The following are options for completing professional development requirements. All options may be repeated for credit unless otherwise noted. Links to each option as well as appropriate forms are available on the table below.

Cohort
FAME is a yearlong,
collaborative project through MSDE that focuses on formative assessment.
Participants will participate in 5 learning modules, complete several
activities, and receive support from MSDE personnel.

Learning
Walks
Learning Walks are
collaborative visitations to classrooms at LHS. The walks are thematic (i.e.
classroom management) and participants will spend 45 minutes visiting 3
classrooms and 15 minutes reflecting.

Participants actively are
members in an approved PLC.

Online Learning
Modules
Online learning modules are
available through Sophia.org. Participants must successfully complete the
“Reflection Project” to earn credit for the module.

MOOCs (Massive Open Online
Courses) are college courses offered for free through a diverse group of
universities. Participants must complete the MOOC and provide the Certificate
of Completion to receive credit.

credit for professional presentations made at local, state, and national
conferences.

Observations

complete a peer review with a colleague. Peer reviews involve each participant
viewing his/her partner’s classroom for 30 minutes and then completing a
reflection activity after both observations have been

Sign up for any fall on-line courses through MSDE. Especially appealing and aligned with SC's vision are under the Instruction and Pedagogy topic. Submit credit re-imbursement forms. If you are taking any other grad course work, this can also be applied. http://msdeblackboard.com - Fall registration is on the right side.
